Alien races

 There is this Alien race and like us they have consciousness, they too have created a civilisation on their own world. They are nothing like us though, for humans mating does not usually end in the male being killed by the female. During in mating the males and female join not only physically but mentally as well. Their consciousness join together during sex, having sex for them is very complicated and very dangerous for the male. As both the male and female reach climax, the female muscles involuntary convulse and female is extremely strong, much stronger than the male. That convulsion, breaks the males neck killing him instantly! 

This is complex mating has evolved over millions of years and is completely natural, but as this race became a global civilisation and created laws and politics, sex now had strict rules. These rules were more complex than mating itself and their population began to fall rapidly and resources were needed for scientific research into why the female killed the male during the act of mating. Science was a new concept, up until one hundred  years ago all males mated, which in turn resulted in a high population of females and their offspring.
What science found out about what was happening was staggering! 

    The males and females were very different mentally, males were logical thinkers and although capable of emotion and empathy, logic always came first. The females on the other hand, had powerful emotions, strong bonds and felt intense love for their male partners. So as you can understand, deciding to have children was something not to be taken lightly. What you have understand is, these are conscious beings, just like us and they feel emotions hundreds of times stronger than we do. So a female knows that having children will result the death of the person she loves.

The bonds between male and female start at a young age and last until death, this has been without exception since the beginning. 
As civilisation began to grow, many males and few females decide to choose a purely logical life and remove themselves from bonding with each other. These males and females choose a life of science, they dedicated themselves to understanding  their existence and their place in the universe. 

To understand what was going on during mating, it was imperative to the observer to understand what occurred during mating and why the female killed the male. Of course it was already known that the death of male occurred around the point of climax and it was believed to be necessary for male ejaculation, during this ejaculation the male would release all of his sperm, which had been created over his short lifetime. This sperm would be used by the female to fertilise her eggs. These embryos would be stored by the female. Usually up to three children were born from a single male
